Slam poetry, even in it's titling, always evokes such strong emotions and impressions.
Multi-media, with it's leveraging of visual representations, only adds to the "PUNCH", as far as I'm concerned.
There's actually a blog from Stanford university all about code-based slam poetry http://stanford.edu/~mkagen/codepoetryslam/ They organize meetings and generally just nerd out. I think it's really neat, and a few of their old submissions on the submission page really hearken similar themes to those poets from Tumblr.
